JTF kill Boko Haram deputy commander




The Joint Military Task force (JTF) operating in Borno state, Nigeria had confirmed the killing of the second-in-command of the Islamist militant group, Boko Haram during fighting in Borno state around the Bama corridor.
The attack by suspected militants took place in the town of Konduga, 35km from the state capital, Maiduguri, where Boko Haram was first established.
Momodu Bama, also known by his alias "Abu Saad", was a specialist in manning anti-aircraft guns.
A military spokesman, Brig Gen Chris Olukolade said His death earlier in the month had been confirmed by other arrested terrorists.
Gen Olukolade said Momodu Bama was one of the "most-wanted" militant commanders and has a N25m ($155,000, £100,000) reward for whosoever has any information about his whereabouts.
