T.B Joshua Holds "New Anointing Water Service" in U.K in September 2013

The General Overseer of  The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet T.B Joshua has announced a special  'new anointing water service' in London branch of the church just four months after a stampede for his anointing water left four dead at a church service in Accra, Ghana.
The London branch of the church has published an alert titled "T.B. Joshua Sends New Anointing Water To UK – Special September Service!!!" and that those who sign up for the prayer line will be granted access to the "new anointing water."
"Today, we are seeing the hand of God move mightily through the medium of the Anointing Water at The SCOAN (headquarters) in Lagos, Nigeria – an instrument God is using to bring healing to the afflicted, deliverance to those in demonic bondage and breakthrough to those struggling in a cycle of backwardness and limitation," the church states in the announcement. "It is not the water that brings the miracles; it is God Himself, since the anointing is done in Jesus' name. As Prophet T.B. Joshua says, 'The secret of all the miracles is Jesus Christ.'"

The fact is that  while some people really troop out to "The Synagogue"  for miracles, others have criticised the miracles from the "self-acclaimed" miracle worker that he uses the power of darkness to heal.
What side of the matter do you stand? You may leave your own comment.

Muslim Brotherhood leader, Beltagi arrested

Egyptian Officials report that Mr Beltagy and Mr Azhari, who served under Mr Morsi, were arrested in a flat on the outskirts of Cairo on Thursday (today).
The State media accused Mr Beltagi, who is the secretary-general of the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), of inciting violence in Egypt.
It comes as Egypt's military moves against Brotherhood leaders following the ousting of former President Mohammed Morsi.
Despite the arrest order, he had appeared on an almost daily basis at the Rabaa al-Adawiyah protest camp in Cairo, which was occupied by supporters of Mr Morsi. The former MP was often seen delivering fiery speeches on the stage.
A report from Egyptian state-run news agency Mena  said it was likely Mr Beltagi would be held at Cairo's Tora prison.

Series of Bombings Kill 50 in Baghdad

More than 50 people have been killed with many others wounded in the recent series of bombing in Baghdad, Iraqi capital during the rush hour of Wednesday.
Recently, there has been an increased violence between Sunni and Shia Muslims in the country.
Several blasts in the northern district of Kadhimiya killed at least five people and wounded many others, according to reports. A northern suburb or Sadr City was also attacked.
Sunnis say they are being marginalised by Prime Minister Nouri Maliki's Shia-led government.
Casualty figures released by the United Nations showed 1,057 Iraqis - most of them civilians - were killed in July, making it the deadliest month in the country for years.
BBC World Service Middle East Editor Sebastian Usher says authorities have stepped up security operations in Baghdad. But they seem unable to stop the growing intensity of violence now back to a level not seen for five years.
As at the time of this report, no group has admitted carrying out the bombings, but correspondents say appear to have been carried out by Sunni militants.

Lagos State Government to take Over Management of Lekki-Epe Express Way

There are indications that the Lagos State Government  is ready to take over the construction and management of the 50km road (Phase I) of Lekki-Epe express way, and construct another 20km of coastal road (Phase II) along the Lekki corridor from the Lekki Concession Company (LCC).

This was confirmed on Tuesday as the Lagos State Government announced the termination of its concession agreement with the Company.

In a letter written to the state house of assembly dated August 19, 2013, on supplementary budget proposal, Governor Fashola requested the House to amend the 2013 budget, owing to unforeseen developments in terms of the state’s internally generated revenue.
He said, “The proposal for further amendment is largely predicated on the need to fund the acquisition of the existing concession, right and toll revenue benefit held by the Lekki Concession Company, the concessionaire for the Eti-Osa-Lekki-Epe Expressway. This will effectively accelerate the transfer of ownership of the road to the state, leaving the state with wider policy options with regards to that important infrastructure.
“In order to address these issues, we have proposed a two-prong approach namely: re-ordering some expenditure provisions and also directing supplementation of the year 2013 budget. This will entail an increase in the overall budget size by N7.5bn. This is against the background of a projected shortfall of N22.5bn in budgeted internally generated revenues, which now need to be covered by the additional borrowings.”

Syria chemical attack: US ready to launch Syria strike

US Defence Secretary, Chuck Hagel, says American forces are "ready" to launch strikes on Syria if President Barack Obama chooses to order an attack.
Mr Hagel told the BBC in a chat that assets have been moved in place to be able to fulfill and comply with whatever option the president wishes to take.
In his own reaction, the US Secretary of State John Kerry said there is "undeniable" proof that Syria used chemical weapons.
Meanwhile, Syria's allies, Russia and China, have warned against military intervention in Syria, with Moscow saying any such action would have "catastrophic consequences" for the region.
On Monday, United Nations chemical weapons inspectors were fired on while investigating one of the five alleged chemical weapons attack sites around Damascus.
Mr Hagel  further said that intelligence currently being gathered by the UN inspectors would confirm that the Syrian government was responsible for the chemical attack last week.
"I think it's pretty clear that chemical weapons were used against people in Syria," he said.

Police arrested five suspects in Mumbai over gang rape

Story from cnn
Indian police arrested a fifth suspect Sunday in the alleged gang rape of a female photographer, authorities said, in a case that has renewed outrage over safety of women in the nation.
Soon after the sexual assault Thursday, police chief Satyapal Singh said they were searching for five suspects.
The alleged rape of the 23-year-old woman in the financial hub of Mumbai is the latest shocking sexual assault to make headlines in the South Asian nation.
The photographer and a male colleague were on assignment in the area for a print publication when some men approached them, according to Mumbai police commissioner Satypal Singh.
The two had walked from a train station to a nearby mill, the woman said in a statement released by police. One of the men claimed to be a railway employee and said, "Our boss has seen you taking photos; you will have to come with us."
According to the woman, he refused to let her talk to his boss, instead leading them away. Then, somewhere near the exit, one of the accused pointed at the photojournalist's colleague, saying he was responsible for a killing a few days ago.
"I pleaded with them to let us go, but they shouted at me and threatened me," the woman said. She and her colleague were taken further inside the mill complex.
There, they offered their camera and phone, begging to be let go. Instead, "they tied my friend's hands with (a) belt" as two others joined the group, the woman said.
"Three people stayed with my friend, and the two took me behind a wall," she added.
That's where the attack allegedly occurred. The victim said her mother called her phone multiple times, before one of the men switched it off. The woman said she was threatened with, among other things, sharp pieces of a broken beer bottle.
Police have since released sketches of all five suspects.
The victim was in stable condition at a local hospital.

An 8-year-old shoots, kills elderly caregiver after playing video game

An 8-year-old Louisiana boy intentionally shot and killed his elderly caregiver after playing a violent video game.
Authorities identified the woman, 87, as the boy's "caregiver," but CNN affiliate WBRZ reported that the woman was the boy's grandmother.
By accounts of relatives of the victim, as well as friends of the family, the victim and the juvenile had a normal, loving, relationship and even shared the same bedroom," the sheriff's department said.
The gun belonged to the grand mother, report says
Although the boy initially told investigators that he accidentally shot the woman Thursday while playing with a firearm, the probe led authorities to believe he "intentionally shot Mrs. Smothers in the back of the head as she sat in her living room watching television," the sheriff's department statement said.
The boy won't face charges. Under Louisiana law, a child younger than 10 is exempt from criminal responsibility.

Illegal Oil Wells Discovered in Lagos

The Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps has sealed up two houses that have wells, which are supplying suspected stolen fuel instead of water.
Eight persons have been arrested in connection with the incident at Animatu Ilo Street, Ejigbo, Lagos State.
It was learnt that the suspects, who were also the house owners, dug their wells to the level of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation pipelines which runs through a section of the Ejigbo area.
The suspects were said to have made their own connection to the pipelines so that some of the fuel running through them would divert into the boreholes.
When PUNCH Metro visited the affected houses numbers 17 and 30 of the street, officials of the NSCDC and the Nigerian Army had cordoned off the scene.
At the building on number 30, when an official of the NSCDC attempted to draw some water out of the well, he drew petrol instead.
It was the same situation at number 17 where another well existed which supplied fuel instead of fuel. A large number of jerry cans filled with fuel littered the compound.
It was learnt that the occupants of the house were caught unawares in the middle of their illegal business by NSCDC raid.
The suspects, however, denied that they were involved in any fuel theft.
One of them, Mrs. Funke Ogunba, who claimed to have lived in House 30 for eight years, said the leakage of fuel into the borehole was a recent development.
Ogunba said, “For many years, we have pumped water from that well. It was only months ago that we discovered that fuel was leaking into our water. Immediately, my husband and I noticed this, we reported the incident to the Ejigbo Police Division and to some NNPC officials. They came twice to our house with a tanker to empty the borehole.

New Infiniti Q50: 2014 Model.

Behold the 2014 model of Infiniti Q50. The price ranges between $36,700 (N 5.7m) to $45,000
 (N 7.1).
Infiniti starts with a very fine powertrain, its 3.7-litre V6, here producing 328 horsepower and 269lb-ft of torque, channelled through a seven-speed automatic transmission. On bucolic stretches through northern New England, a Q50S AWD proved plush and confident, with minimal body roll through tight turns. The “S” brings some enticing upgrades to the base Q50, including larger brakes, 19in wheels, stiffened suspension and marvellous magnesium shift paddles that, working with the sequential automatic, held middle gears deep into the Q50’s rev band. For all this spirit, the sedan’s all-wheel-drive system kept the car dead-centre, even when loutish feet and hands tried to shake the tires loose.
Optional Bose 14-speaker audio sounds the equal to systems in$250,000 Bentleys. A novel stacked-screen multimedia interface neatly splits the difference between smartphone-mimicking touch commands and toggle tactility. There is a sense in the Q50’s cabin of deeply considered design, where the only frivolous flourish might be the grooved, faux-metallic bezels around the dashboard’s analogue gauges.

However, Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar has said that the Police in particular and Nigeria in general has lost an icon in the person of Odiase, who died at the age of 79.
He made the remark during the commendation service held Friday morning during the commendation service at Police College in Ikeja, Lagos which was graced by both serving and retired police officers as well as rank and file.

Cardiff City thrashed Mancity 3-2

Cardiff City produced a stunning win over 2011-12 champions Manchester City to claim their first victory in the Premier League.
After falling behind to Edin Dzeko's powerful 52nd-minute opener, Aron Gunnarsson equalised after Joe Hart blocked Fraizer Campbell's shot.
Former Manchester United youngster Campbell then scored twice in eight minutes to put the home side in charge.
Alvaro Negredo set up a grandstand finish, but Malky Mackay's men held on.
The final whistle brought with it scenes of celebration from the packed crowd at the Cardiff City Stadium as the Bluebirds won in the top flight of English football for the first time since they were last there in 1962.

It was also the first top-flight victory for Mackay, who guided his team to the Championship title last season.
But it was a chastening experience for new Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, whose side brushed aside Newcastle 4-0 on Monday but surrendered a one-goal advantage in the Welsh capital.
The one disappointing aspect of the victory over the Magpies was an injury to skipper and defensive lynchpin Vincent Kompany.
And the Belgium international was sorely missed on Sunday, with midfielder Javi Garcia deployed as a makeshift defender.

GCSEs 2013 Result: Fall in top grades in UK.

There has been a drop in the proportion of General Certificate of Secondary Education examination entries awarded top grades, for the second year in a row.
More than 600,000 teenagers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland are receiving results, with head teachers saying changes have caused “a lot of turbulence” in grades.
About two-thirds of exam entries were graded between an A* and a C – a fall on last year.
And the proportion getting an A* or an A fell from 22.4 per cent to 21.3 per cent.
The overall pass rate also fell marginally, for the first time in the exam’s 25-year history.
The results – released by the Joint Council for Qualifications   – also show more pupils are taking exams early (particularly in Mathematics and English), a rise in re-sits and teenagers being entered for more than one exam in the same subject.
The JCQ says these early entries are partly responsible for the drop in results because 16-year-olds are outperforming younger pupils, together with falls in science grades.
It says they are a “damaging trend”, not in the best interests of pupils and driven by the league tables, where schools are measured on how many pupils get at least a C grade in English and Mathematics.
In English, the proportion of entries awarded A*s to Cs fell by 0.5 percentage points, to 63.6 per cent. In Mathematics, the fall was 0.8 percentage points.
There was a big fall in pupils getting top grades in all the sciences, following the introduction of new syllabuses and exams.

Mysterious: Boy flies Arik Air from Benin to Lagos, hiding in tyre hole

A teenager beat airline and airport security at the Benin Airport and sneaked into the tyre compartment of a Lagos-bound Arik plane, where he flew safely to the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, on Saturday morning.
There was, however, pandemonium at the airside of the Lagos airport when passengers disembarking from the aircraft saw the teenager as he emerged from the undercarriage (aircraft tyre hole) to join fellow travellers.
The adolescent stowaway, identified as Daniel Ihekina, was immediately arrested by security officials at the airport.
The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria and Arik Air confirmed the incident.
Although the General Manager, Corporate Communications, FAAN, Mr. Yakubu Dati, said full and urgent investigation had commenced into the mysterious circumstances that led to the huge breach in airport and airline security, the situation has continued to beat the imagination of aviation authorities in the country.
The situation, which has become a major source of worry among the authorities, has also led to a blame game between FAAN and Arik.
FAAN, in a statement on Saturday, said it held “Arik Air liable for the circumstances leading to the stowaway of a teenage boy on its aircraft at the

12 years old boy died from brain eating parasite.

Zachary Reyna, a 12-year-old Florida boy stricken with a brain-eating parasite, has died, according to a post Saturday on a Facebook page that's been providing detailed updates from the boy's family.
The post indicated that the LaBelle child died Saturday afternoon.
"The battle is over for Zac but he won the war," the post concluded.
Doctors had given Zachary an experimental drug to treat the rare amoeba, called Naegleria fowleri, that he had.
Zachary's family told CNN affiliate WBBH they believe that the boy -- who they described as an active seventh-grader -- was infected while kneeboarding with friends in a water-filled ditch by his house on August 3.
After he was hospitalized, the boy underwent brain surgery, and doctors diagnosed him with primary amoebic meningoencephalitis, according to WBBH.
After news emerged regarding Zachary's diagnosis, the Florida Department of Health issued a warning to swimmers that high water temperatures and low water levels provide the perfect breeding ground for this rare amoeba.
The amoeba enters the body through the nose and travels to the brain. There is no danger of infection from drinking contaminated water, the CDC said.
"This infection is one of the most severe infections that we know of," Dr. Dirk Haselow of the Arkansas Department of Health told CNN affiliate WMC about Kali's case. "Ninety-nine percent of people who get it die."
The first symptoms of primary amoebic meningoencephalitis appear one to seven days after infection, including headache, fever, nausea, vomiting and a stiff neck, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
"Later symptoms include confusion, lack of attention to people and surroundings, loss of balance, seizures and hallucinations," the agency website says. "After the start of symptoms, the disease progresses rapidly and usually causes death within one to 12 days."

Taraba state Governor arrives Jalingo today

Governor Danbaba Sunatai of Taraba State will on Sunday (today) arrive Jalingo, barely 10 months after he was flown abroad for treatment following an air crash involving his private jet in Yola.
Sources close to the governor reveal that Suntai arrived London from New York on Saturday. He was scheduled to leave London for Jalingo on Saturday night or early hours of Sunday.
Suntai reportedly left New York for London on a chartered flight on Saturday due to the lack of seats on commercial flights.
The governor’s wife had in a telephone interview on August 20, said that her husband was expected to depart the Sea View Hospital Rehabilitation Centre and Home, New York, on August 25.
Suntai spent four months at the rehabilitation centre after spending about six months in a German hospital.
Barely 48 hours after he was transferred to the National Hospital, Abuja, following injuries sustained in the plane crash, the Taraba governor was flown to Germany for medical treatment.
Suntai was the pilot of his jet Cessna 208, 5N-BMJ Jet that crashed in Yola, Adamawa State on October 25, 2012.
He was taken to an Abuja hospital around 10:57am on October 26, 2012, in a state ambulance. He was reported to have been in coma when he was flown out of the country. The governor, his aide-de-camp and chief security officer were all onboard the crashed plane.
Suntai, who graduated as a pilot from the Aviation College in Zaria last year, flew the crashed plane. That was the second time he survived a plane crash.

"A big congratulations to the people of Taraba and Nigerians at large."

Man Commits Suicide on His 60th Birthday

Martin Manley hated waking up early, but on his 60th birthday he did -- or more likely, never went to sleep the night before.
At 5 a.m. he entered a police station parking lot in a suburb of Kansas City, Kansas, walked to a spot beneath a tree on its far south end and pulled out his phone.
He dialed 911.
He said this:
"I want to report a suicide at the south end of the parking lot of the Overland Park Police Station at 123rd and Metcalf."
Then, the blogger and former sports reporter for the Kansas City Star pulled out his Saturday Night Special, a .380 pistol, and shot himself in the head.
At least according to his site, Manley's death was also a numbers game.
He claimed to be in good health and happy. He was financially sound, with an investment in gold worth $200,000.
